Bolgheri – between history and wine

Bolgheri is a beautiful medieval village immersed in the green Tuscan hills, become famous thanks to its wines, which have become internationally renowned.

A good example is certainly that of Sassicaia, a very precious wine known in Italy and in the world. But there are many vineyards in this area, from the oldest to the younger ones.
Also from here passes the Wine and Oil Road of the Etruscan Coast, a gastronomic, naturalistic and historical itinerary to discover local products, hills and ancient villages.

To get to the castle of Bolgheri you will cross roads immersed in the vineyards of the Tuscan countryside, until you get to the famous cypress avenue. Here is the beautiful cypress-lined avenue named and praised by Giosuè Carducci in his poem.

Through this avenue you will arrive at the Castle of Bolgheri, you will see behind the trees this beautiful red brick structure which leads to the center of the village.

The ancient village is full of narrow streets and stone houses. In Bolgheri, you can enjoy the excellent wine produced in this area thanks to the many wine bars and taste the typical products in restaurants or bars.
