HISTORICAL VILLAGES IN THE SURROUNDINGS OF CECINA

In the surroundings of Cecina there are some historic villages with a unique charm that jealously preserve the traditions, stories and recipes of their territory.
Within 30 km from the Le Tamerici Campsite you can visit Casale Marittimo , Bolgheri , Montescudaio , Riparbella and many other small towns where time seems to have stopped in the Middle Ages.

The countryside of the Val di Cecina is in fact a territory characterized by Etruscan-Roman archaeological sites, villages, hills and vineyards. Here the colors of the earth blend with the intense blue of the sea giving life to a very suggestive landscape.

One of the most panoramic views of the valley can be admired from Riparbella , a small medieval village that developed around the local castle after the year 1000. The town is surrounded by olive groves, woods, vineyards and cultivated fields that arrive to the sea.

Casale Marittimo and Montescudaio are instead famous for the production of DOC wine, much appreciated throughout the area and which has now become famous. These two small towns boast, among other things, very ancient churches and historic buildings such as the Rocca di Casale and the Torre della Guardiola di Montescudaio.

A must for wine lovers is also Bolgheri . The town is full of artisan shops, wine bars, cellars, taverns and restaurants that offer the typical products of the area accompanied by the fine local DOC wines.
